Greenways & Canals bike trips

Signed, secure and flat routes with no traffic: ride on dedicated cycling routes!

Traveling by bike is to look for a means of travel as close as possible to nature and yourself. What could be better then than to cover roads dedicated only to non-motorized means of travel?

The paths along the canals, often old towpaths on which men or animals pulled boats, are now privileged spaces for bike travel. Many of them constitute sections of marked routes such as the Vélodyssée or the VéloFrancette.

Old railways or rural roads have also been developed, marked and secured in order to extend the network of paths dedicated to sustainable travel. Many agents for change at the French and European levels coordinate to organize and develop the “greenways”. The major European routes are partly the result of efforts made in this area.

If you want to enjoy your bike trip by traveling on secure, signposted, flat areas and away from car traffic, greenways and canals are made for you!
