As a child, I used to ride my bike along the paths, exploring nature and discovering secluded, idyllic trails. I would unfold the map, trying to find the paths to happiness. I’d plan my routes while dreaming of adventures. Brittany, where I grew up, is a land of cycling, which was particularly fulfilling for the young cyclist I was. By founding Abicyclette Voyages, I wanted to give back to my region what it had given me. Through inspiring trips, I wanted to help the rest of the world get to know it better, a place that knows so well how to bring joy to all cycling travelers.
Of course, I also wanted to set out myself to discover the most beautiful cycling destinations in France, Europe, and around the world. Today, I am delighted and proud, along with my team, to be able to share and offer cycling trips accessible to as many people as possible across more than 40 destinations. Driven by exploration and new encounters, we plan tomorrow’s adventures, convinced that by inspiring the world to cycle, we can help bring peace to it.
Creating cycling adventures since 2010
At the beginning of 2010, Abicyclette Voyages was born of a shared passion for bicycles in all their diversity, and for travel in all its curiosities. This adventure began with the creation of a first 100% Breton catalog, with the avowed aim of making bicycle travel accessible and comfortable in our little “World’s End”. The team, fervent about cycling in all its dimensions and particularly attached to bicycle travel, has been fully involved in the creation and organization of bike trips across France. The central objective remains to offer trips that encourage encounters, discoveries and the simple pleasures of life, while being active and in direct contact with nature. These principles form the very foundations of the Abicyclette Voyages project.
Brittany, a true jewel for cycling enthusiasts, has sculpted an unbreakable bond between its picturesque landscapes and a passion for cycling. The champions who have emerged from this region have not only carried the Breton colors high on roads around the world, but have also instilled cycling pride in the local community. Races held in the heart of this land, imbued with the fervor of the Breton stages of the Tour de France, have elevated cycling to the status of a true cultural heritage. Brittany’s rolling hills, craggy coasts and winding roads have provided the backdrop for epic competitions, shaping a demanding training ground for cyclists and inspiring deep admiration for the region’s raw beauty. The ever-changing palette of colors, from windswept cliffs to golden beaches, provides a captivating visual spectacle for cyclists traveling through these lands. The scents of the sea, the distinctive scent of pine trees and the salty atmosphere give each ride a unique sensory experience, reinforcing the intimate bond between cyclist and nature.
Today, Abicyclette Voyages, with its 20 employees, is preparing to organize its 6,000th trip. By the end of 2025, more than 16,000 people will have had the opportunity to travel with our agency. It is with growing pride that we note the growth of our project, fuelled by our shared passion for cycling, travel and discovery. It’s a testament to our ongoing commitment to offering unique experiences, rich in encounters, discoveries and simple pleasures, to all lovers of cycling and adventure.
Carefully crafted itineraries
A “cycling destination” is first and foremost a playground, with its roads and paths winding through hills, valleys, villages and the most beautiful panoramas of its territory. Passionate about maps, we plunge excitedly into the maze of routes offered up by our bocage countryside in an attempt to map out the most playful, quiet and representative routes of the destination. It’s essential not to miss out on the emblematic gems these places have to offer!
This route already takes into account the accommodation and catering options that allow our travellers to make restful stops. Equipped with our trekking GPS, we explore these initial sketches in the field to check that the cartographic representation we had made corresponds to reality. We adapt and find variants for less interesting or dangerous sections, in order to propose a finished itinerary that’s as pleasant and fun as possible, and that encourages the discovery of heritage and nature. It’s not the most unpleasant part of our job!
