From Dijon to Chalon sur Saône between vineyards and valleys

From Dijon, start a 7-day cycling trip in the heart of the great vineyards of Burgundy. This region will soon have no more secrets for you.

This cycling trip starts in the beautiful city of Dijon with its varied and rare architecture. Take advantage of your arrival in the historical capital of the duchy of Burgundy to stroll through its streets and taste some local specialties.

The urban landscape quickly gives way to the fresh air of the countryside. Throughout your stay, you have the opportunity to stop in the different vineyards on your way and taste the Grands Crus of Burgundy. Land of the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varieties, this oenological journey is a joy for wine lovers but also initiates the curious who wish to learn more. The Côtes de Nuits and Côtes de Beaune appellations are in the spotlight during these 7 days of cycling. You will ride safely on itineraries with grandiose panoramas. The Voie des vignes, as its name indicates, guides you through the heart of the prestigious Burgundy vineyards. The villages crossed promise beautiful discoveries and tastings in Pommard, Meursault, Puligny Montrachet or Vosne-Romanée. With the help of this greenway, you pedal along the vineyard paths and the Climats of Burgundy listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (In Burgundy, a Climat is a delimited parcel of land with its own geological characteristics and vines of a single variety).

This bicycle trip also offers other surprises. At the bend of the vineyards, you will discover enchanting castles, peaceful villages full of flowers, and impressive properties and estates that make the richness of the region. You will stop in Beaune, a famous city with cobblestone streets, internationally known for its hospices and its annual wine auction. You can visit some of the many historical monuments along your cycling route. We particularly recommend the Château de Corabœuf, a precious testimony of the region’s past; and the La Ferté Abbey which plunges you into the heart of the 18th century.

This journey reveals many secrets that each actor, medieval village, wine estate shares with you out of love for its history, its land and its region, out of pride in its culture and traditions. By its generosity and its welcome, Burgundy quickly makes you one of its new ambassadors and already invites you to a new cycling adventure.
