Destination
Your cycling trip begins in the majestic city of Reims, famous for its Gothic cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a historic site where the kings of France were once crowned. A little further south, Épernay reveals its elegant streets and beautiful bourgeois houses.
Between the city of the coronation and the capital of the Champagne region, you enjoy a fascinating mix of vineyards, forests, hills and picturesque villages, all of which reflect the soul of the region.
This sporty, sensory and luxurious tour on two wheels lets you savour all the richness of this unique region, with its unspoilt nature, oenological treasures and prestigious hotels. World-renowned champagnes such as Moët et Chandon, Veuve-Cliquot and Mumm proudly bear their names in the vineyards that stretch as far as the eye can see. But we invite you to let your curiosity be your guide. Champagne is first and foremost a collection of nuggets produced by generations of independent winegrowers working to exceptional standards. Your cyclo-tourist rides through the vineyards are an opportunity for unexpected tastings. The independent winegrowers are passionate about their work, and are delighted to show you around their cellars with their thousands of bottles. This cycling tour gives you an insight into the art of Champagne-making, from harvesting to bottling.
From the mountain of Reims, with its grands crus and blanc de noirs (Chardonnay / Pinot Noir), to the hillsides overlooking Epernay and its blanc de blancs (100% Chardonnay), everyone can taste their favourite grape varieties and blends.
The gentleness of the region invites you to pedal at your own pace for a total immersion in the richness of this land.

Starting from Tinqueux, you take the road and glide into the rolling vineyards of the Montagne de Reims. Following the Vesle River to Jonchery-sur-Vesle, you climb gently toward the hills of the Saint-Thierry massif, a green amphitheatre where the noble grapes of Champagne flourish. In Rosnay, the church tower overlooks endless rows of Pinot Meunier. The Champagne Tourist Route then leads you through charming wine villages — Thil, Merfy, Chenay — each a quiet guardian of its terroir. The landscape alternates between wooded valleys and perfectly aligned vines.
It is the Regional Natural Park of the Montagne de Reims which opens its doors. You first cross the coast of the island of France, through its route of champagne before reaching the curious twisted beech trees of the Forest Domaniale Verzy. Admire the ocean of vineyards at the top of the Verzenay Lighthouse or take the time to enjoy a glass of Champagne at Perchingbar, a bar perched among the trees. Follow our advice and visit one of our friendly cellars. Then the Vallée de la Marne welcomes you and it’s along its side channel that you will end this pleasant day before reaching Vinay.
You ride on the famous white coast and its “White Whites”. It owes its name to its grape, Chardonnay, and offers charming roads around the small mountain of Avize. You will end your day by contemplating the impressive Maisons de Champagne of the avenue of the same name. Here you are in Cuis facing the Montagne d’Avize and its “White Whites”, which takes its name from the color of its grape variety: the Chardonnay. A winery visit can be the occasion for a pleasant tasting break before your return to Vinay.
End of the stay at the end of the morning. After breakfast you will have time to wander through the city and up to the impressive cathedral.
For an exceptional stay you enter some of the best residences, castles and mansions and sleep in princes and duchesses’ rooms.
