Prestigious vineyards of Pomerol, Pauillac, Margaux...
Saint-Emilion, part of UNESCO's world heritage
Bordeaux, capital of wine and buzzing city
Cycling through some of the most prestigious vineyards in the world
From Bordeaux you cycle down the Garonne then the Dordogne river before to reach some of the most prestigious vineyards. Among the most famous are Pauillac, Margaux, Saint-Emilion…
On small roads it is a journey through vineyards, nature and wine cellars. It is an opportunity to discover more about the culture and making of wines and enjoy a few tastings.
The architectural heritage is as impressive as the wine. You ride between “castles” of all sizes. In the evening you stay insmall towns of character where you can also taste gourmet local cuisine. Saint-Emilion, a renowed city of wine with a beautiful historical architecture, is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage!
The journey continues to Bordeaux, the “Sleeping Beauty”. Since this nickname was given to her, the city has woken up, its streets and cellars are lively and yours to enjoy!
Arrive to Bordeaux on your own. Orientation meeting at your hotel in the afternoon.
You leave the regional capital on a bicycle lane that takes you into the Bordeaux countryside to the charming little walled city of Creon. Continue your ride by admiring the site and the Romanesque pillars of the La Sauve-Majeure Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a few kilometers, you are in the middle of vineyards, as far as the eye can see, that stay with you all the way to Saint Emilion.
A day through prestigious vineyards. After leaving Saint-Emilion and its great wines you ride through the vineyard of Pomerol. It is known for famous wines such as Petrus, Le Pin, La Conseillante, Gazin and many others. In Libourne, an important port, discover a 13th century Bastide. With its mound Fronsac enjoys a privileged position. Enjoy the Bourg and its charming streets above the harbor. Wonderful places of the right bank of the Dordogne with less prestigious red wines but equally interesting!
You ride 50 km, including 5 to cross the Gironde by boat. It forms at the confluence of the Dordogne and the Garonne rivers, a few kilometers upstream. You arrive in the land of Medoc and its red wines: Saint-Julien and its 11 Grands Crus, Pauillac and 18 great wines, Saint-Estephe the northernmost of the Médoc AOP (PDO – Protected Designation of Origin).
After riding through the vineyards of Pauillac and Saint-Julien, you reach Margaux. It is the largest and southernmost of the Medoc designations (POD). Margaux gathers 21 castles, the largest number of classified wines in the Medoc. You reach Bordeaux by the Garonne riverbanks and ride on bike paths that take you to the historical heart of this beautiful city. On an evening, you can enjoy the city’s attractions including its many wine cellars where you find all the names crossed over this great week.
End of stay after breakfast in Bordeaux. You can enjoy the morning in Bordeaux to visit the beautiful sites of the city of wine.

It has been an excellent experience. Totally raw with the bicycles, everything was organized so well (bicycles, housings, local information to eating) that we enjoy every moment of the tour. The explanations of the first day on the part of the guide us turned out to be very useful and to know that always you could rely on the organization it allowed us to enjoy the trip. The tour, on there having no been rolled traffic, is most indicated for people that as us it cannot circulate in road with the bicycle. The way of sirga that accompanies on the channel of Nantes Brest is of a spectacular beauty. It seems of another time, to admire the flowers that adorn the exclusas of the Channel, the villages that you are, a marvel. What more we estimate : All the explanations the day of delivery of the bicycles and of the documentation. The transport of suitcases and last day the taxi up to the village where we had to catch the bus. We come to France without having anything organized absolutely. (09/2017)

Hello again Nathalie (...) It was wonderful and we so appreciated everything you organized to make it so. (...) The hotel was first class, lovely comfortable room and delicious breakfast......5* (...) Your maps and directions were excellent and we only got lost a couple of times! Don't forget to tell your clients about the beautiful gardens....Le Jardins Botanique de la Boirie at Saint Pierre Ile d'Oleron. They are amazing and not to be missed! Journeys over the bridges were thrilling and we especially liked the Ile de Re....we might have to return there one day! Again our thanks Nathalie. We'll be in touch for next year. Sincerely, Brenda & Michael (09/2018)
Dear Fabien, Thank you very much for your interest. Thanks to the good one to do, the enthusiasm and the explanations of the guide, today the first day we have completed the first stage successfully in spite of being experienced neither at bicycles nor in GPS. Incredible!!! Thank you very much. A greeting Martha (08/2017)
Now that we are home and recovering from jet lag we would like to thank you and Davide for making it such an enjoyable trip despite the rain. The routes were very carefully crafted and gave us good views on safe roads and trails. The GPS was very easy to follow (...). The bikes were very good and performed without problem and the panniers and handlebar bags were the best we have encountered. We think that the combination route that we created with your help gave us good variety in the time we had allowed ourselves. (...) We will certainly recommend Abicyclette to anyone interested in seeing Bretagne on a bike. (...) Thank you again for a wonderful trip. Will and Marilyn (09/2017)
