Norway by bike on the Arctic Route

Cycle from Tromsø to Svolvær! The Arctic Route is a spectacular tour through the wild and striking landscapes of Norway's far north. The route takes you through deep fjords, rugged mountains, pristine beaches and small fishing villages, offering breathtaking views of the Arctic Ocean.

This cycle tour, which follows the northern coast of Norway, immerses you in unspoilt nature. The cycling journey begins in Tromsø, the “gateway to the Arctic”, where the light of the midnight sun illuminates the bustling streets, before leading you to discover in the saddle the wonders of the islands and the Northern Coasts.

Along the way, pedal to a first stop in Sommarøy, a picturesque coastal village known for its pristine white sand beaches and turquoise waters. The mountains surrounding the village offer a striking contrast to the ocean, and the peaceful atmosphere invites you to explore.

Further along your itinerary, the island of Senja, nicknamed “Norway in miniature”, marvels with its deep fjords, craggy peaks and wild beaches. A stop in Hamn, on Senja’s west coast, offers a picturesque little port and postcard-perfect scenery.

Your Norwegian cycling tour continues to the village of Bø, then on to Sortland, famous for its colorful houses. Cycle to Svolvær, capital of the Lofoten Islands, where imposing mountains and crystal-clear waters leave an indelible impression.

The Arctic Route is a cycling itinerary where every stage reveals extraordinary panoramas, raw nature and authentic places, far from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. It’s a journey where you feel connected to the soul of the Arctic, a true change of scenery in the heart of Norway.

This cycling trip passes through numerous tunnels. All tunnels are illuminated, but some can be a little dark. A helmet and jacket are included in the bike rental. We recommend that you bring your own reflective or luminous equipment.
