Our bike tours in Italy.
Along small hilly roads lined with cypresses or in the alleys of its medieval villages, Italy will amaze you with its history, the art of living of its inhabitants and its magnificent landscapes. To discover all its charms, there’s nothing like cycling around Italy.
Along the greenways or on the roads of Tuscany, cradle of the Renaissance, Italy invites you to take the time to enjoy the beautiful and good things in life. The numerous wine routes will allow you to discover cities of art steeped in history. The local gastronomy will not fail to delight your taste buds and offer you gourmet stops throughout your stay.
The warm welcome of the Italians is legendary! In the land of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, life is good. The captivating nature did not fail to inspire these famous painters but also offer the inhabitants the resources which make the fame of Italy and contributed to cultivate the art of living in the Italian way. The Mediterranean climate has certainly something to do with it as it configures the landscape and a part of the economy: fields of olive trees as far as the eye can see, citrus fruits, rice, sun-soaked vegetables … No wonder Italian gastronomy has been exported worldwide !
Italy is also a land steeped in history and a true open-air museum. Historical monuments each as surprising as the other jostle to surprise you and make you travel in time. From the Colosseum of Rome to the famous leaning tower of Pisa or through the Basilica of St. Mark in Venice, Italy will make you travel through history, from ancient times to the present day.
In the land the car reigns, it’s better to get away from busy roads to ride a bike safely. It is therefore necessary to prepare your bike trip in Italy to take full advantage of cycle paths or roads with little traffic.
The country is working on the development of two networks, EuroVelo and Bicitalia, to improve cycling in this country with such a strong tourist attraction. At the same time, accommodation is increasingly adapting to welcoming cyclists with different levels of service.
If the north of Italy has a rougher and continental climate, most of the country is bathed in a Mediterranean climate, very hot and very dry in summer. It is better to leave in the spring or September to be able to travel by bike in good conditions.
Italy has so much to see that it is impossible to propose an exhaustive list. There remains a few must-sees that will probably require several stays to see:
Back home now Fabien, thanks for all the help…a great week of riding and enjoying Le Tour! Merci! (07/2015)
It has been an excellent experience. Totally raw with the bicycles, everything was organized so well (bicycles, housings, local information to eating) that we enjoy every moment of the tour. The explanations of the first day on the part of the guide us turned out to be very useful and to know that always you could rely on the organization it allowed us to enjoy the trip. The tour, on there having no been rolled traffic, is most indicated for people that as us it cannot circulate in road with the bicycle. The way of sirga that accompanies on the channel of Nantes Brest is of a spectacular beauty. It seems of another time, to admire the flowers that adorn the exclusas of the Channel, the villages that you are, a marvel. What more we estimate : All the explanations the day of delivery of the bicycles and of the documentation. The transport of suitcases and last day the taxi up to the village where we had to catch the bus. We come to France without having anything organized absolutely. (09/2017)
Now that we are home and recovering from jet lag we would like to thank you and Davide for making it such an enjoyable trip despite the rain. The routes were very carefully crafted and gave us good views on safe roads and trails. The GPS was very easy to follow (...). The bikes were very good and performed without problem and the panniers and handlebar bags were the best we have encountered. We think that the combination route that we created with your help gave us good variety in the time we had allowed ourselves. (...) We will certainly recommend Abicyclette to anyone interested in seeing Bretagne on a bike. (...) Thank you again for a wonderful trip. Will and Marilyn (09/2017)

Hello Natalie, We are now back in Sweden from our bicycle tour in Normandy. I would just like to give you some feed back from the tour: We were all very satisfied with the trip. When planning the trip, we found it very easy to work with you, quick answers and good flexibility for our ideas. Excellent choice of roads, which took us through the fantastic landscapes of Normandy, and also along the fashinating see shores ending with the first D-day shore. Most roads with very little traffic. We also appreciated the kindness of all french drivers who never complained although we sometimes were in the middle of the small narrow roads. The distances was OK for all of us. When there was a choice of long or short distances, we always selected the long ones. Easy to find the roads with the excellent GPS and the very good Road Book. We also appreciated the very good choice of B&B, places where we felt wellcome and with good standard. A trip we will recommend to our friends. We also had good luck with the weather, lots of sun, not to strong winds, just one or two showers in daytime. (Was the weather also organised by you??) With Best Regards (05/2017)
Bonjour, Suite au Week-End, un peu pluvieux, passé ensemble autour des Châteaux de la Loire, merci pour tes efforts et ta compagnie. A une prochaine fois, sans doute... (05/2013)
