The story behind the trip
For several years, we have developed a great friendship with Sébastien Chavanel, ex-professional cyclist, and his partner Sophie, around our passion for cycling and the common values that guide us.
Sébastien and Sophie really fell in love with the Vercors and shared with us with great enthusiasm, their great experience within the Zecamp complex. The warm welcome of the former top athletes who built this place surrounded by nature, strengthened the desire to share this paradise for cyclists with you!
In collaboration with Sébastien Chavanel and the Zecamp team, we have set up a program on the most beautiful routes in the region, allowing you to fully enjoy the unique and fabulous character of the Vercors.
Cycling stay on the most beautiful routes of the Vercors Natural Park
In the heart of the Vercors mountains, Zecamp is the ideal base camp for your cycling stay in this unique region of the Alps.
For the duration of your stay, your base camp is located in Corrençon-en-Vercors on the Zecamp complex: the hotel of Loïs Habert, Marie Dorin and Robin Duvillard (members of the French biathlon and cross-country skiing team). A true sports hotel for athletes by athletes! The whole team is at your service and provide advice in order to fully enjoy your stay and share good moments of exchange and conviviality. We provide you with all the routes that you can complete in the order you want according to your desires, weather or mood of the day.
This sports stay takes you on the most beautiful routes of the Vercors. At the heart of the Regional Natural Park, your routes weave their way through lush nature, sometimes dizzying routes, green forests, villages of character or on plateaus where the gaze wanders, bordered by ridges that peak at more than 1000m. Sensations and emotions guaranteed!
For the more athletic (sport cyclist, triathletes, skiers …), this stay can also be an opportunity to prepare physically as best as possible for the end of season or winter season deadlines. Recovery will not be overlooked. Once your cycling trips are over, you can enjoy a Cold Bath or Box massage offered by your hotel.
Your company will find what they are looking for with the possibility of outdoor activities (hiking and other). Do not hesitate to contact us!
This 5-day stay at Zecamp offers you the optimal conditions and a rejuvenating setting to enjoy the unique beauty and diversity of the landscapes of this marvelous region of Vercors.
VILLARD DE LANS, LE COL DU MONT-NOIR 85km 2843m
Westbound and the Vercors foothills. Your route is off to a smooth start with the descent of the magnificent Gorges de la Bourne then a flat road which leads you to the village of St-Romans. At this point, the profile changes and you will have to change gears! You turn right and a long ascent in the forest lies before you which leads you to the summit of the Mont-Noir pass at 1412m above sea level. You reach the Route des Ecouges and the small village of Rencurel before taking the direction of Villard-de-Lans.
- For a few more km 95km 3151m
VILLARD DE LANS, L'ETAPE REINE ! 100km 2926m
You will have to be in shape today because it is the queen stage of your stay: 100km are on the program with more than 2350m of elevation gain.
You head towards Valchevrière, the center of the Resistance, then cross St Martin en Vercors then La Chapelle en Vercors, recognizable by its steep rocky cliffs which surround it. Then it’s serious business with the sequence of the Carri and La Machine passes. The panoramic viewpoint of the Col de la Machine overlooks the Orthodox Monastery of St-Antoine-le-Grand and offers a magnificent view. The descent to St Jean du Vercors allows you to recover from your efforts on the vertiginous cliff road of Combe Laval, an unmissable passage in the region. You reach Pont en Royan to access another unmissable spot in the Vercors Regional Nature Park: the Gorges de la Bourne.
VILLARD DE LANS 70km 2366m
You leave in the direction of Pont-en-Royans then take the direction of St-Martin-en-Vercors. You then make your first foray into the Gorges de la Bourne, a magnificent and typical Vercors landscape awaits you. You continue until La Chapelle en Vercors, recognizable by its steep rocky cliffs which surround it, before making your way back. You follow the Vernaison river before turning to the right and start your climb on a small road to the Col d’Herbouilly (1370m) and the plateau of this magnificent natural site.
- For a few more km 100km 2833m
This detour takes you further south with the ascent of the Proncel and St Alexis passes which offers a splendid view over the Pays Diois.
VILLARD DE LANS, BOUCLE GRANDS GOULETS 75km 2242m
Let’s go for the last loop of your stay. The previous day demanded to draw on your reserves, so it is a shorter but nevertheless hilly course that is offered to you today. You take the direction of Saint Martin en Vercors then cross the Grands Goulets tunnel. Upon leaving, you admire the Rochers de l’Allier, the highest point of which is Pas de L’Allier (1171m). Les Petits Goulets and its 5 tunnels then take you to Sainte-Eulalie-en-Royans. The stage of the day ends with the magnificent route of the Gorges de la Bourne… You never get tired of such a setting.

VILLARD DE LANS, COL DE LA CROIX-PERRIN 40km 784m
Northbound. After leaving Correnzon and Villars de Lans, you take the winding road through the magnificent Gorges du Méaudret. At the exit of the gorges you find the village of Méaudre which has kept its authentic character with its traditional farms with flagstone gables, its old stone basins and its village center open to the surrounding landscapes. It is also the starting point of your first ascent where the first hectometers are to be well managed because the percentages are high. Connected to Méaudre by the Claret hills, you reach the village of Autrans, nestled between valleys and forests. You then face the biggest difficulty: the Col de la Croix Perrin which culminates at 1218m above sea level. You then return to your base camp, it’s the end of a first ride which gives you an overview of the beauty of the days to come …
