An emerald jewel

Embark on a 6 day itinerary from Saint-Malo and back. You start off in Saint-Malo, the traveler’s city. Its history and heroes give you a taste of travel and adventure. So hop on! Discover the Emerald country and its lands, among the following:
– Dinan, one of the best well kept medieval city, where you can enjoy both walking and cycling
– Jugon-les-Lacs, a small authentic town perfect for a stopover
– Lamballe, its church and national horse stud
– Erquy, enjoy a superb panorama from the peninsula. For the early risers, you can watch on the port, the fishermen coming back from sea with their catch. In august join in the Fest-Noz with its traditional music, singing and dancing.
– Cap Fréhel, a protected natural site which you access by cycling on one of the most beautiful coastal roads. Visit the lighthouse for a 360° view. On a clear day you might even distinguish the Channel islands!
– Dinard, go for a swim or treat yourself to a crêpe or an ice cream, as a reward  for all your efforts!

The ride back to Saint-Malo is not the end of your trip! You can enjoy a last effort to Cancale and taste its famous oysters. They are served on the port at the Oyster market.

Day 1

SAINT-MALO

Welcome to Saint-Malo. Meeting with our guide between 13:00 to 19:00

Day 2

From SAINT-MALO to DINAN 40km 400m Niveau Loisir

You leave Saint-Malo by the Dinan gate. Cycling along the Rance River you will reach the medieval city of Dinan in the middle of the afternoon. You enjoy a first halt in Saint-Suliac, one the most beautiful village in France.

Day 3

From DINAN to LAMBALLE 60km 480m Niveau Forme

Along the sea, you ride from port to port and from cape to cape. After the beautiful villas of Dinard, the port of Saint-Cast and Erquy presents its colorful boats. Between the two, Cap Fréhel and its impressive cliffs rising to over 70 meters above the sea. The stage ends in lush greenery, in a quiet hotel mansion.

Day 4

From LAMBALLE to ERQUY 45km 455m Niveau Loisir

You are back along the coast, the Emerald Coast, and won’t leave it for the rest of the trip. As the name suggests, it is its true color. The site will blow you away when you view the vertiginous cliffs of Cap d’Erquy. On the port, feast with sailors. But don’t go to bed too late if you want to enjoy a visit of the fish market at dawn.

Day 5

From ERQUY to SAINT-CAST-LE-GUILDO 38km 400m Niveau Loisir

A path marked « Tour de Manche », leads you by pathways and bike paths to Cape Fréhel. On the cliffs, 70m above the sea, you witness the unreeling of a grandiose landscape. The area leading to the Cap Fréhel lighthouse is protected. It’s made up of heather moors, gorse, broom and ferns, all contributing to a beautiful mix of colors. After the lighthouse you visit the fort of La Latte built on the coast overlooking the sea. The fort is a filming location for several famous films because its exceptional location is as interesting as its state of conservation and renovation. You go around the beautiful bay of Fresnaye where you can meet some oyster farmers at work. The arrival in Saint-Cast allows you to enjoy a beautiful beach for swimming. The family resort is lively all summer!

Day 6

From SAINT-CAST-LE-GUILDO to SAINT-MALO 45km 400m Niveau Loisir

You ride along the coast on your bike. The spikes and bays are numerous and lengthen the stages for your eyes’ pleasure, which can see an infinite variety of landscapes and colors. After a visit to Dinard you embark on the water bus with your bikes. You reach Saint-Malo.

Day 7

FROM SAINT-MALO, CANCALE LOOP 38km 480m Niveau Loisir

  • For your last day. You have a last optional morning loop :

The corsair city and its ramparts open its doors. You will discover the Emerald Coast and this varied city, from the beautiful Sillon beach to the mythical “intra-muros” city. A loop to Cancale will allow gourmets to taste its famous oysters!

  • For a few more km 43km 280m Niveau Forme

    The tour continues to the beautiful Pointe du Grouin which offers an exceptional panorama of the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel
