Embark on a 6 day itinerary from Saint-Malo and back. You start off in Saint-Malo, the traveler’s city. Its history and heroes give you a taste of travel and adventure. So hop on! Discover the Emerald country and its lands, among the following:
– Dinan, one of the best well kept medieval city, where you can enjoy both walking and cycling
– Jugon-les-Lacs, a small authentic town perfect for a stopover
– Lamballe, its church and national horse stud
– Erquy, enjoy a superb panorama from the peninsula. For the early risers, you can watch on the port, the fishermen coming back from sea with their catch. In august join in the Fest-Noz with its traditional music, singing and dancing.
– Cap Fréhel, a protected natural site which you access by cycling on one of the most beautiful coastal roads. Visit the lighthouse for a 360° view. On a clear day you might even distinguish the Channel islands!
– Dinard, go for a swim or treat yourself to a crêpe or an ice cream, as a reward for all your efforts!
The ride back to Saint-Malo is not the end of your trip! You can enjoy a last effort to Cancale and taste its famous oysters. They are served on the port at the Oyster market.
Arrival in Saint-Malo. You meet with our guide at your hotel around 6 PM for an orientation meeting.
You leave Saint-Malo by the Dinan gate. Cycling along the Rance river you will reach the medieval city of Dinan in the middle of the afternoon. You enjoy a first halt in Saint-Suliac, one the most beautiful village in France.
You cycle on small roads through charming villages and the Breton countryside. Jugon-les-Lacs offers a pleasant stopover with its traditional granite-built houses. In Lamballe you can visit the 14th century church of Notre Dame de Lamballe and for horse lovers, the National Stud.
You are back along the coast, the Emerald Coast, and won’t leave it for the rest of the trip. As the name suggests, it is its true color. The site will blow you away when you view the vertiginous cliffs of Cap d’Erquy. On the port, feast with sailors. But don’t go to bed too late if you want to enjoy a visit of the fish market at dawn.
A signpost path "Tour de Manche" shows you the way to reach Cap Fréhel. On top of the cliffs 70m above the sea, you are humble spectator of a grandiose landscape. The land up to Cap Fréhel’s lighthouse is a protected natural area. It mixes heather, furze, broom and fern in a beautiful blend of colors. After the lighthouse, you can visit the La Latte Fort, built right on the coast and overlooking the sea. Arriving in Saint-Cast you can enjoy its beautiful beach. Care for a swim?
You cycle along a still very indented coast. The many tips and bays you encounter stretch out the ride and to your eyes’ delight offer an endless variety of colors and landscapes. After visiting Dinard, embark on the water bus with your bikes. You arrive in Saint-Malo by sea which completes the trip.
For the brave and insatiable travelers, enjoy a last loop and discover Cancale. It is a pretty harbor at the entrance of the Mont Saint-Michel Bay. Taste the famous No. 3 oysters at the oyster market. You can enjoy them any time of year!

Hello Natalie, We are now back in Sweden from our bicycle tour in Normandy. I would just like to give you some feed back from the tour: We were all very satisfied with the trip. When planning the trip, we found it very easy to work with you, quick answers and good flexibility for our ideas. Excellent choice of roads, which took us through the fantastic landscapes of Normandy, and also along the fashinating see shores ending with the first D-day shore. Most roads with very little traffic. We also appreciated the kindness of all french drivers who never complained although we sometimes were in the middle of the small narrow roads. The distances was OK for all of us. When there was a choice of long or short distances, we always selected the long ones. Easy to find the roads with the excellent GPS and the very good Road Book. We also appreciated the very good choice of B&B, places where we felt wellcome and with good standard. A trip we will recommend to our friends. We also had good luck with the weather, lots of sun, not to strong winds, just one or two showers in daytime. (Was the weather also organised by you??) With Best Regards (05/2017)
